Apartment Envy: Cassandra Lavalle

The most recent issue of rue magazine online features the Seattle apartment of Coco + Kelley blogger Cassandra Lavalle. I had the pleasure of meeting Cass at the Canadian Design Blogger Meetup this past January, so it was extra special to get a peek into her newly decorated home. The comfortable one bedroom is a reflection of Cassandra's personality: bright, fun and interesting.

Check out the brass trunk coffee table (an Etsy find)
which does double duty as storage space:

There are hits of Coco + Kelley green throughout
Cassandra's home. I love that gorgeous leather pouf:

This girl's got style!! Cassandra has an awesome
vintage campaign dresser in her bedroom:

Even the kitchen features original artwork.
The piece on this shelf was created by Rachel Wright:

Your home is beautiful, Cass!!

Wallpaper Anywhere & Everywhere

Every once in awhile, I feel compelled to write a pro-wallpaper post. What can I say, I love the look of bold wallpaper, and I think it's unfortunate that so many people won't use wallpaper out of fear. Please don't be afraid any longer. Times have changed, wallpaper can be used in any room, and new papers are easy to install and remove, so live it up a little!!

Check out these images, all with gorgeous wallpapers, all taken from issues of Rue, High Gloss and Lonny online magazines.

Dear Santa

It's doubtful that one of these will fit down the chimney, but I'm still putting it on my Christmas list. Santa, I've been a good girl this year, please bring me an etagere.

Habitually Chic: Heather Clawson

On my last trip to New York City, I met with Habitually Chic blogger and designer, Heather Clawson. We spent an hour chatting over coffee while I picked her brain and asked a million questions about her life in Manhattan and about how she became involved in interior design. I learned from her that life is an evolution, and that it's never too late to make a fresh start and do what you truly enjoy. For Heather, being laid off from her position with a prominent design firm gave her the push she needed to go out on her own and it's probably one of the best things that ever happened to her. Today Heather is busier than ever, writing daily blog posts while taking on design projects for Habitually Chic Design.

Just this month, Heather was featured in both Canadian House & Home magazine, and in the premier edition of Rue Magazine, an online publication. Congratulations, Heather, and thanks for the inspiration!!
