Not Just Pink...HOT PINK

This Thursday, May 27th, CP24 in Toronto is inviting their viewers to "Wear It Pink". The television station will be hosting a BBQ in the parking lot of their studios at 299 Queen Street West. All proceeds raised during this event will support The Weekend to Women's Cancers.

To show my support, I've assembled an homage to Hot Pink. There's nothing like a dash of fuschia to brighten your day and your home!!!

All Most Antiques

All Most Antiques is located at 1114 Queen Street East, just east of Pape. According to Sam, the store's owner, it's time for him to get out of the business and spend more time traveling the globe. What does that mean for his customers? It means that Sam is now clearing all remaining merchandise, and there are some nice pieces to be had...just make an offer!!!

Sarah Richardson Teams Up With Para Paints

It was only a matter of time before Sarah Richardson would launch her own line of paints, and now you can select from 75 of Sarah's favourite colours, developed with Para Paints and available exclusively through Lowe's Canada. Sarah used Para Paints throughout the renovation of Sarah's House 3, and if you liked what you saw, you can now paint your own home in the same colours!

Wheat Sheaf Motif

While innocently browsing on ebay yesterday, I stumbled upon this vintage french brass wheat sheaf candle sconce. Before I could stop myself, I made an offer and won!! Please just don't ask me where I'm going to put it.

The wheat sheaf motif has returned to vogue in home decor recently. Check out this pair of brass sconces in the foyer of Antonia Thompson's New York City apartment:

Antonia also selected this end table with a wheat sheaf base for the living room:

One Bedroom Plus "Den"

When I originally selected my condominium unit from the floorplan at the sales centre, I was shown a floorplan for a One Bedroom + Den. During construction, however, the closet wall was extended, and the teeny tiny "den" disappeared completely. Truth be told, I fully appreciate the additional storage that was gained with the larger closet, but I've spent the last two years searching for just the right desk to fit into the living room corner.

Finally!!!
Thank You, West Elm!!
This one fits just right...

Sarah's House 3 Episode 9

The final room in the new addition is the large master bedroom at the end of the hallway. Inspiration for this room comes from the fabulous quilt Sarah and Tommy found at the Christie Antiques Show (coming up this May 29th, by the way). The quilt's hues of yellow and orange lead to the selection of more bright fabrics, including a stunning bold floral fabric Sarah uses to recover two armchairs.

Decor Budget: $15,000
Actual Spent: $18,785

Splurges: 4 Poster Bed $3000, 2 Armchairs $4000
Saves: Quilt $350, Pair of Lamps $90 (approx)

Sarah's House 3 Episode 8

Episode 8 focuses on creating a large bathroom in the new addition, to be shared by the whole family. It's a large space, which allows Sarah to incorporate a deep freestanding tub, an enclosed glass shower stall and matching vanities with sinks. The colour scheme in this room once again is inspired by a fabric, and although Sarah's initial fabric choice doesn't make the final cut, the blue and sand scheme comes through in the drapery, paint selection and tile. As Sarah says, the end result is "fresh and family friendly".

This week's budget: $20,000
Actual spent: $19,060

Splurge: Tub $4000
Saves: Drapery Fabric $9.99.yard, Vanities $350 each, Storage Cabinet $250
