Cold Shoulders at the Golden Globes

Celebrity watching may seem silly to some, but watching the Golden Globes pre-show is required research for those in the fashion industry. If you notice a trend walking down the red carpet today, I guarantee you'll see it walking down the street in under 6 months.

A strong trend at this year's Golden Globes was the asymmetrical, or one-shoulder gown. I like this style for one main reason: the shoulder strap keeps the dress in place, thereby eliminating the constant "up-tugging" which afflicts all strapless gown wearers. These women all looked quite beautiful:

Jennifer Aniston

Gets my vote for Best Dress!!

Reese Witherspoon

(Gets my vote for First Runner Up)

Marion Cotillard

  1. I love the look of the one shouldered gowns. In my heart I hope it never goes out of style.

and I completely agree with the practicality of it all. Especially with the suped up undergarments we have available - that one strap makes all the difference in the world!
