Sarah's House 3 Episode 4

This week: The Kitchen!! In this room we see another soft, buttery yellow as the colour scheme. Although Sarah and Tommy originally envisioned a green scheme, drawn from a tropical fern fabric, things didn't go as originally planned. Unavailable fabrics seem to be a theme this season, and Sarah was sent back to the drawing board where she found a pretty Japanese floral print.

Once again, in a stunning turn of events, Sarah came in well under budget:

Kitchen Budget $55,000
Actual Kitchen Cost $51,800

Splurge: Cabinets & Install $11,700
Save: Do It Yourself Floor Refinishing $350

  1. Thanks for the "Sarah's House" updates. I think I've mentioned in a previous post that my sad basic cable package does not cover HGTV.

Enjoyed watching HGTV and a few Sarah Richardson episodes over Easter Weekend at my parents.

  2. Great idea for the stairs. When we removed the carpet from our house, we discovered that the stairs had been painted. Stripping is not an option due to lead paint issues but this might be a solution. Really cute idea.

  4. I've searched and searched and can't find the kitchen drapery fabric. I saw that it was sourced at Telio, but can't find it on their website... and can't get to one of their showrooms. Do you know the name of the fabric? I could try to search for an online source. Thanks.

  5. I love the color palette in this kitchen...actually there isn't a room I don't love. Do you know the name of the fabric she used for the kitchen curtains?

  6. Karen,
I agree, this kitchen has a wonderful fresh and bright colour scheme. Can you believe Sarah used 8 different paint colours in this space?
As for the curtain fabric, the source listed is Telio (www.telio.com).

  8. Lori,

I know the kitchen fabric is to the trade only but there is a site (www.ladesignconcept.com) which will get the fabric for you if you know the manufacturer, fabric Sku number, model or color. Can you help with that?
By the way, I got the yellow sanderson bathroom fabric on this site for US $89 a yard.
