In this first episode, we learn that Sarah has spent $500,000 to purchase a farmhouse and 50 acres of land (sources say that the farmhouse is located in Creemore, Ontario). The plan is to invest an additional $600,000 to completely renovate the old homestead. This episode features a complete overhaul of the combination entry, mudroom and powder room. Look for my two favourite features: The brass pendant light fixture and the bird wallpaper, both featured in the powder room.
If you miss an episode, it will rerun the following Sunday at 11 am and 8 pm EST. As an alternate (for those of you who, like me, don't subscribe to the fancy cable package), the video will also appear on the HGTV website - just follow this link: Sarah's House Video.

I'm going to have to watch this show. It looks great! Love the red doors...used the same shade on the doors of my house.
ReplyDeleteWhere can I get that wallpaper? I just love it and it would be perfect for my bathroom.
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteYou're not the first one to ask about the wallpaper Sarah used in the powder room, but I haven't been able to track down the source yet. I will post it here when I find out.
I've found a UK source that carries the Hummingbird wallpaper:

what is the name of the drape pattern by Robert Allen?
ReplyDeleteThe fabric Sarah used for the drapes is a Robert Allen fabric. The name of the pattern is Flower Paisley and the colour is Date. Hope this helps!!
ReplyDeleteWhat is the fabric used in the dining room drapes?
ReplyDeleteSee onlinefabricstore.net ----The Fabric is called (P. Kaufmann) Breeze Tapestry.
DeleteThis website has all the information for the dining room show. The fabric is a Schumaker fabric. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/real-estate/a-dining-room-that-does-double-duty/article1526855/
ReplyDeleteWhat is the wall color in the mudroom? Thank so much!
ReplyDeleteJennifer,
ReplyDeleteSarah uses all Para Paints in Season 3 (www.para.com). The wall paneling is Raindrop SR1, the doors are Orchard SR53, and the trim is Snowfall SR29. Sarah has just recently launched her own line of paint through Para Paints which will be carried at Lowe's stores in Canada.
A shopping guide for the mudroom episode can be found at HGTV Canada:

Cherish, do you know the exact fabric Sarah used on the walls of the dining room? I want that fabric :)
ReplyDeleteHello Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteYou can read more about the dining room in this post:

In answer to your question regarding the fabric, the name of the Schumacher pattern Sarah used is "Lotus Garden", and the colour is "Lacquer". The fabric is available in Toronto through Bilbrough (www.bilbroughs.com).
Thanks for the name of the wall paint in the mudroom. However, being in the US, I don't have access to Para paints. Do you, by chance, know of a paint color, available in the US that is close to the Raindrop? Thanks for all your help! I was able to locate the fabric and am hoping to use this in my new kitchen =)
ReplyDeleteI picked up the paint swatches of Sarah's 75 colour palette for Para Paints. However, according to the swatches, the name of SR1 is Powder. A comparable colour in Benjamin Moore Paints would be White Wisp (OC-54). Just remember to always test paint colours in your space before you make a final decision, since lighting will affect the colour's appearance.
ReplyDeletethanks so much!
ReplyDeleteHi! I would like some feedback on using that fabric Sarah used in the mudroom...Do you think it would be too much as drapes and sofas in one large room? I have boys and dogs and i think it would be great for stains etc....but too much pattern?
ReplyDeleteHi Posey,
ReplyDeleteThe paisley fabric that Sarah used here is beautiful, but having said that, I wouldn't recommend using it on both the drapes and sofa in one room. Such a large impact fabric would be overwhelming, and it would be best to use the print on either the sofa or the drapes, and use a coordinating solid for the other. If you are concerned about hiding stains, it would make the most sense to use the print on the sofa, which is more apt to have spills, etc. Don't forget to Scotchguard the fabric to protect against stains, or consider slipcovers which can be removed and washed.

Yes, I think you are right....maybe just drapes and leather for sofas? a beautiful chocolate leather....thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi, I was looking at a post you have "Sarah's Cottage" with a picture of the living room. Do you know anything about the coffee table she used? I love it!
ReplyDeleteHi Posey,
ReplyDeleteAccording to the HGTV website, the coffee table already belonged to Sarah before the renovation, therefore the source is not listed.
Much to my dismay they never really give enough time to showing the details of the completed rooms of the houses she decorates. The styling and accessories are great and could be a great learning tool. Is there a photo book detailing the "Sarah's Houses" she has done???? Also the pricing is done in Canadian dollars not what the costs are US.....be nice if they added conversion....Love her work, love it.
ReplyDeleteSarah doesn't have a book at this time (although I could see it happening in the future), but the website has great photos of her work, including Sarah's House. The website is www.SarahRichardsonDesign.com. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI NEED to know the name of the fabric used in Sarahs farmhouse kitchen...Can anyone help?
ReplyDeleteI am trying to find the source of the coffee table in the living room for the 3 split can anyone help. I love, love, love it!
ReplyDeleteI hope you can help me,
ReplyDeleteI recently watched one of sarah's episodes from her farmhouse home, she created this headboard and covered it with a beautiful fabric, I've searched on HGTV.com looking for the company, and found out that the fabric was made my a company called Schumacher, unfortunately after searching their website I haven't found anything, a picture of the "West Guest Room" is on the link below, if you could help me in any way to find this headboard fabric that would be fantastic!

Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteThe name of the Schumacher fabric is called "Clarendon", and the colour is "Mineral". This link will take you to the Schumacher product detail page:

In Toronto, the fabric is available to purchase through Bilbrough at 326 Davenport Road. If you're not in the Toronto area, you should contact the closest showroom which can also be found on the Schumacher website under "Contact".

is there a benjamin moore color that is similar to Orchard SR53 from Para Paints? this is the color Sarah used for the mudroom closet doors.
ReplyDeleteBenjamin Moore's newest line of Affinity Colours offers a similar colour to Sarah's "Orchard" (SR53). Check out Benjamin Moore's "Caliente" (AF-290), it is very close, just a shade darker than Sarah's Para paint colour.
ReplyDeleteCould you please find out what fabric(s) were used in the farmhouse girls room? I most especially would like to know the fabric used on the headboard and drapes, but also the long pillow with the wavy kind of stripes is beautiful too. Thanks in advance!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, the only thing I know about the fabric used in the girls room is that it was sourced through Telio in Toronto. Please read the discussion on this blog post (copy and paste the link into your browser):

Hi, does anyone know the fabric used in Sarah's grey kitchen - the one in the new construction house?
ReplyDeleteThe fabric you are looking for is Kravet Sanabelle. All the info is in my post about the kitchen in Sarah's House 4.
DeleteThank you!!!
DeleteI am looking for the fabric that Sarah used in the master bedroom chairs. It was beige back ground with large floral patterns. I would love to do my living room chairs in that fabric. And what colour would you recommend for the couch?
ReplyDeleteAlso the entry rug in from IKEA but I can not find it. Has anyone found something close to it?
